The Damage Trump has already done
- The USA government now operates to the benefit of the individuals in power instead of toward principles of making life better for Americans.
- The U.S. government is now open for bribery and kickbacks. Trump has declared his opposition to anti-bribery laws, and to rules restricting gifts given to him in exchange for privileged access to and treatment by the U.S. government.
- The Republicans in power now bully, threaten, and intimidate to push people, businesses, organizations, and governments do what they want. If you don’t want to be subjected to expensive lawsuits, or to lose your license to operate, or lose funding, you should show favoritism and speak well of the current administration. Failure to do so can result in loss of your business, termination of your organization, and punishment by the courts leading to fines and imprisonment.
- This is not simply a government crackdown on fringe woke and liberal institutions and individuals, it is an assault on the freedom of speech and opinion.
- The missions and values of all federal organizations have been replaced with the mantra, “Do what the right-wing dogma expects”. “Do what Trump wants.”
- This lack of mission leaves agencies in the bad position of being unable to work toward courses of action that are best for Americans. They can’t adopt methodical or scientific approaches to improvement because these might run afoul of Republican dogma. Therefore they can’t try proactive steps at making improvements. No long term plans. They can only be reactive. Their actions are limited to avoiding offending those in power so that they don’t find themselves punished.
- You can see how such a government fails in Putin’s war against Ukraine. Putin believed he would take over the country easily within weeks because that it was his inner circle told him. Those people in his inner circle are only there because they tell him what he wants to hear. There are no voices of dissent. No wisdom to consider their information or beliefs might be wrong. And they acted on their beliefs and hopes rather than on information easily obtained. And they have utterly failed.
- How can anyone believe that one person in charge knows all the best answers to everything, and that no consideration of the impacts of different possible courses of action is valuable? When the one person making decisions can’t be questioned, it becomes easy for the actions carried out on behalf of that person lead to significant problems and damage. The value of committees and teams, and the value of the bureaucracy, is that it prevents bad decisions from happening because experts can point out potential problems with the plan of action before it is implemented.
- You may wonder why anyone would want to join an organization where the leader must always be obeyed simply because they are the leader. But the answer is simply that power attracts the corrupt. People that crave to have power over others are willing to submit and abase themselves to one higher up the ladder, because they will be rewarded with their own smaller fiefdom wherein they can act as unquestioned leader and tyrant. Many people are attracted to positions where they have unlimited and unquestioned power to force others to do as they please. A government of this nature is going to attract the most corrupt members of our society, and repel those people that desire to act with altruism to help their fellow Americans.
- USA will be weaker in the future because of massive cuts to science and to education
- USA will be poorer in the future because
- Countries are reducing what they buy from USA
- People in other countries are willing to pay more for a product if it is NOT made in the USA
- People from other countries desire to travel less to the USA because they don’t like the USA alone policies
- People from other countries desire to travel less to the USA because they fear they will be mistreated by the US govt
- Bright young affluential students don’t want to come to the USA because they fear they will be mistreated by the US govt
- Foreign businesses are buying less from the USA because of Tariffs and because of unpredictability, lack of stability, of business regulations
- People are investing less money in the USA
- People are looking for alternatives to the US dollar
- Because foreigners are less interested in US goods, the only market for goods produced in the US is the US; and because the marketplace of the US is far smaller than the marketplace of the world, businesses in the USA producing product won’t be able to sell as many/much as in the past and thus won’t be able to produce as cheaply. Higher costs of products to Americans for products made in America
- USA power around the world will be weaker in the future because
- We have less reliable information, fewer reliable networks of people and organizations in foreign countries, because we have cut ties with thousands of agencies we used to deal with in foreign countries
- With no investment, no aid, to foreign countries those countries will no longer look more favorably to the US than then do to China, Russia, or any other foreign country. This weakens the ability of the US military in those nations (due to lack of quality information), weakens our ability to influence the politics of foreign nations to align with our own, eliminates our ability to help the foreign economies remain stable so that they can produce products inexpensively that Americans desire to consume, reduces our ability to stop plagues that could be global at the source (an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure), reduces our ability to prevent the chaos and military struggles that ensue when people live in volatile societies, and that chaos spreads across nation borders disrupting other nations.
- Destroying rule of law, operation by mission of our govt
- The problem with bowing down to one single person’s opinion about what is best - only tragedy can ensue - why not get the opinion of many - especially when there is no rush?
- He is intentionally divisive - trying to divide americans - much of what is done is simply done to irritate liberals and democrats
- Ignoring climate change - clinging to the “fossil fuels is good” dogma
- Destroying good health science information and replacing it with wackos
- Data collection about the economy, diseases, climate change, activities of foreign governments are all getting significantly reduced through budget cutbacks and staff firings. The decrease in data collection is important to the Republican administration because it such data more easily exposes the damage being done to the economy and our society. Some examples of Actions taken to erode political impartiality and force loyalty and compliance to Trump
- Firing of Democrats from FTC - The FTC is a regulator created by Congress that enforces consumer protection measures. Supreme Court rulings have sought to solidify the body’s independence and only allowed commissioners to be removed for cause.
Some examples of Petty actions based in ignorance and bias
- Execute Order banning transgender in the military - Done without input from the military, just based on Trump’s own ignorant biases. A good leader would first seek input from the military.

Trump is the largest source of most division in the United States today
In his personal quest for power, Trump has sown hatred against liberals and democrats and told innumerable lies about liberals and democrats in general as well as personal attacks in order to anger his radical right-wing base and instill fear in them that the country will fall apart if you don’t elect Trump.
