Trump, Trump the Incompetent

Just as I can still hear the cry of “Maximus, Maximus the Merciful” from the movie Gladiator in my mind, I can hear the cry of “Trump, Trump the Incompetent” coming from America and the World. Much of the harm done by Trump should be attributed to evil intent by the man, but it is due to his incompetence, the incompetence of those loyal to him, and the lack of quality critical feedback that such loyalty requires.

• 2025.6.10 “Trump’s the weakest, most reviled, most incompetent, most malevolent American leader in our history.” Quote from Simon Rosenberg and it is so obviously true. No other American president comes close to Trump’s displays of incompetence and malice.

• 2025.3.1 If Trump were serious and smart about the U.S. taking over Greenland or Canada, he wouldn’t start those negotiations by using threats to do so. By starting with threats, as he did, he has made all the people in those countries staunchly opposed to the idea and also staunchly opposed to all things American. He is creating antagonism and resistance to the idea. This makes it harder for the U.S. to accomplish those goals.
